Shaping the future: Why coding and robotics are indispensable in education

In the context of our investment at Phorms Hamburg in the new Coding & Robotics Lab, I would like to focus once again today on the importance of these forward-looking skills.

Technological skills are no longer just a "nice-to-have", but a "must-have". Studies show that careers in IT and technology are among the fastest growing sectors. So the question is no longer whether our children need these skills, but how we can best prepare them for them.

Coding as a new "key competence"

There are currently around 124,000 vacancies in the IT sector in Germany (Bitkom, 2024). At the same time, a study by the OECD - OCDE assumes that 65% of children starting school today will later work in professions that do not currently exist.

In our new Coding & Robotics Lab, we will not only teach programming and robotics, but also promote problem-solving skills, creativity and teamwork. Because it is precisely these skills that will make the difference in the digitalised world.

More than technology - an opportunity for all

I am convinced that technology education must be inclusive and diverse. With our bilingual and personalised approach, we ensure that every child has access to these important fields of the future.

The establishment of our Coding & Robotics Lab is not just an investment in technology - it is an investment in the future of our pupils.

I look forward to filling this space with life and giving you some initial insights into our projects and successes soon!
